Verdict

DEFAN has gone up 8 lb for his Listowel success, but he remains unexposed in this sphere and may well take another step forward. He gets the nod ahead of Golden Jewel, who hit the crossbar off a significantly higher hurdles mark at Kilbeggan when last seen in June. Benefit Street was below par behind Defan last time, but he is capable of better and merits respect, along with Ricky Langford.
