Forecasts

Pipesmoker (2/1), Shantou Vow (5/2), Konigin Ara (4/1), Earl Biffy Biffen (5/1), Pink Sheets (7/1), Republican (17/2), Wasdell Dundalk (9/1), Takeit Easy (10/1), Noble Savage (20/1), The Cruix (25/1), Certainly Red (25/1), City Diva (50/1), Samtara (100/1)

Verdict

Certainly Red, Pink Sheets and Konigin Ara were placed at big prices on debut and there are doubts regarding the value of the form. REPUBLICAN and Takeit Easy failed to meet market expectations first time out, but the former will improve for this trip. Shantou Vow represents a stable who do well here in bumpers, whilst Wasdell Dundalk represents a yard that did well in this sphere last season and a market move would be significant. Nicky Henderson has a good record in similar races but his Flat-bred newcomer Pipesmoker needs to break a sequence of 13 consecutive losers in bumpers for the yard and they have a poor record here.
  1. Republican
  2. Pipesmoker
  3. Konigin Ara
