Verdict

The ground looks too quick for The Fresh Prince and we are still waiting for signs that the stable are returning to form. Alcala represents a powerful in form yard who do not usually turn out their horses so quickly. That suggests Tuesday's Ludlow win has not taken much out of him so the hint should probably be taken. Opening Batsman is difficult to catch right these days but landed this in 2015 off a higher mark. Harry Fry is a trainer to be respected with his runners here, particularly over fences. On this occasion, however, it may pay to side with GOWANAUTHAT. Charlie Mann is 2-5 over the past two weeks and his runner here is well suited to today's track and ground. He completed a five-timer during the summer before producing a gallant effort in defeat at Worcester before being put away. His attitude and front running style will ask some serious questions of rivals who have previously shown that they don't always have the answers.
  1. Gowanauthat
  2. Alcala
  3. Opening Batsman
