Victorious twice in 17 starts so far but disappointing when last in action on the Flat last October and well beaten over hurdles since., most recently at Newton Abbot in June. Has it all to do under top-weight.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: S De Sousa |  T: B Ellison|  OR: 72|  D
7/2

Often slowly away but stayed on well to power to a comfortable win at Wolverhampton (2m) last month. Couldn't repeat the feat when fourth of 12 off a revised mark over C&D latest but of interest with De Sousa taking over in the plate.

Age: 9|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: Ryan Tate |  T: J M P Eustace|  OR: 72|  D
20/1

Dour stayer who rolled back the years to win over 2m1f at Pontefract two years ago but not sighted since February 2016 and this looks a big ask under the circumstances.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: Callum Shepherd |  T: M R Channon|  OR: 66|  D
14/1

Consistent performer who is rarely far away over a test of stamina but his recent Ripon success was his first for almost two years. Couldn't be regarded as an obvious one to follow up under a penalty for that reason but respected nonetheless.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: Hector Crouch |  T: G L Moore|  OR: 70
5/1

A winner over 1m4f on soft ground in France last year and, though he hasn't looked like winning for present connections so far, his mark is beginning to plummet. May do better with cheekpieces introduced.

6

Age: 10|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: L P Keniry |  T: M D I Usher|  OR: 70|  CD
20/1

Veteran former C&D winner who remains a credit to connections, even though he has become increasingly hard to win with. Not disgraced in successive events in the mud at Ffos Las of late but no margin for error here.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: D C Costello |  T: David Dennis|  OR: 70
100/1

Just the one win from 19 starts and has gone through a few trainers along the way. Drew a blank in five starts for Mick Channon and little to enthuse about on a recent run over hurdles for this yard after a lay-off.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: Oisin Murphy |  T: S Durack|  OR: 70
14/1

Useful dual-purpose performer who was in good form over hurdles over the winter but hasn't been as effective since returning to the Flat. Mark has fallen to an interesting level but still has it to prove on the AW.

9
(3)
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-4  |  J: T P Queally |  T: P J Hobbs|  OR: 69|  D
9/2

Lightly-raced on the Flat and much more renowned for hurdling exploits which have seen him achieve a rating of 133. Has to be of interest from a rating of 69 considering yard do well with their occasional Flat raiders.

10
(13)
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-3  |  J: Martin Lane |  T: M R Bosley|  OR: 68|  CD
7/1

Goes really well here and has proved a bargain buy since switching yards for just 4,000 guineas earlier this summer, winning both starts over C&D with something to spare. Returns from a break 6lb higher than her last win but has to be considered.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-1  |  J: Dane O'Neill |  T: Robert Stephens|  OR: 66|  D
33/1

A bumper/hurdle winner earlier in his career but has struggled to make an impression when previously tried on the Flat. Last seen out running abysmally over hurdles at Uttoxeter in July, so not an obvious contender.

12

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-0  |  J: Paddy Bradley |  T: Jane Chapple-Hyam|  OR: 65|  C
9/1

Well-placed to win five times from just 21 starts, his most recent success coming over 1m6f at Yarmouth (good) in July. A soundly beaten third behind Piedita on first attempt at this 2m trip at Lingfield latest.

13
(11)
Age: 8|  Weight: 8-13  |  J: George Downing |  T: A W Carroll|  OR: 64|  CD
25/1

Won over this C&D in 2013 but has only added one further success in 32 subsequent starts. That said, his mark has plummeted as a result and he was only beaten 1½L at Bath last time out. Possible each-way claims.

Whitecliff Park (7/2), Allee Bleue (9/2), Age Of Wisdom (5/1), Golly Miss Molly (7/1), Avenue Des Champs (9/1), Jack Bear (12/1), Fitzwilly (14/1), Linguine (14/1), Aviator (20/1), Spice Fair (20/1), Spiritoftomintoul (25/1), Mere Anarchy (33/1), Diamond Joel (100/1)

Verdict
Golly Miss Molly has proved a revelation since switching yards and should mount a bold hat-trick bid whilst Whitecliff Park also has plenty to recommend him, particularly with Silvestre De Sousa taking over in the plate. Age of Wisdom is also potentially interesting with cheekpieces introduced but they may all be facing an uphill task against 133-rated hurdler ALLEE BLEUE who is potentially 'thrown in' at the weights if able to transfer his ability to this sphere.
  1. Allee Bleue
  2. Golly Miss Molly
  3. Whitecliff Park
