Check out our race-by-race verdicts and nap selection for this evening's meeting at Wolverhampton.

4.05

MOHAWK KING has been competing in Group 2 contests without success. He’s penalised for a debut win at Ascot in July but is rated 100 and the Hannon colt will take all the beating at this level. Hemmsa returned a losing favourite here having earlier gone close over track and trip but is still preferred to Hackness Harry and Lisdarragh. Glinbury if a full brother to a winner and makes most appeal of the newcomers.

4.40

A winner at Haydock on his debut, LAUDED has subsequently run in pattern races and finished third in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. He can defy a penalty back at this level representing last year’s winning yard. Ibn Arabi never threatened the winner when runner-up over track and trip while Mr Ryder has switched yards having failed to build on an earlier third at Newcastle. Mutaraafeq is a likely improver while Desert Gulf is preferred of the newcomers.

5.10

Dusk Art has switched yards after placing in a seller at Leicester but Gypsy Boy’s third at Lingfield looks stronger form. Infinite Beauty appeared not see out the mile trip at Bath on her handicap debut and this shorter distance will suit but HAVE TO HAVE makes most appeal. The latter finished well ahead of No Leci when runner-up over course and distance last time and the winner went on to land a handicap at Newmarket. She looks the one to side with handicapping for a new yard with an apprentice’s allowance further helping her cause.

5.40

A couple of these drop down in class including Impatient, a runner-up at Kempton the last twice. But ANIMAL INSTINCT (NAP) went close to completing a hat-trick when runner-up in Class 2 company at Chelmsford and Sir Mark Prescott’s colt can go one better in this lower grade with headgear applied. Sermon won over 6f here earlier and placed at Haydock recently but Badri and Sansevero were not at their best last time. Hexagon was tailed-off on his reappearance and has been given a short break.

6.10

TORONADO QUEEN took advantage of a slide down the weights and the return to a mile when winning at Leicester by a wide margin. A 5lb penalty is negated by Ray Dawson’s allowance and the Fahey filly can go in again. Cwynar bids for a hat-trick having won at Lingfield back in January but is 8lb higher on her return. Sheila's Showcase ran well at Bath recently and has gone close off a higher mark here before but Sir Hamilton’s recent second came in an amateurs’ race so course regular Street Poet is preferred.

6.40

Toro Dorado placed on the Turf at Lingfield but has to race off a 10lb higher mark back on the all-weather and The Throstles is another rated higher on artificial surfaces having placed at Doncaster. Melburnian left his previous form behind when scoring at Chelmsford and has an 11lb hike to contend with while though Bavardages beat Locked N' Loaded over track and trip last month, both have been well beaten since. LOVER’S MOON was runner-up in a maiden at Kempton last time but this extra distance will suit on her handicap debut and Hugo Palmer’s yard is in fine form.

7.10

Gold Brocade usually runs her race though that wasn’t quite good enough at Yarmouth on her reappearance. She was beaten by Inevitable Outcome earlier in the year and the latter got her head back in front at Yarmouth last time and can go well again. Tuscan Oasis is 8lb higher than an earlier success at Leicester and debuts on the all-weather but another chance goes to ANNA OF LORRAINE. Sir Michael Stoute’s filly has run out of steam over longer trips lately having raced too freely in the early stages and this drop back in distance looks a logical move.

7.40

Blessed To Empress won at Chelmsford last time but has recorded all her wins on the all-weather so far at the latter track and GLOBAL HUMOR is preferred. The latter won over course and distance last month and finished in front of Spring Romance when runner-up off today’s mark back here on his latest start. Ustath has been creeping closer over the minimum trip and You're Cool slips further down the weights.

8.10

The Big House has been in good form at Catterick recently while Cape Greco placed at Kempton and Oisin Murphy takes over the reins. Critical Thinking has been raised only 2lb for winning over a longer trip here while Kodikova also drops down in trip after finishing second at the track last week. But FREEDOM AND WHEAT returned a clear winner over course and distance last time and Michael Blake’s charge looks worth sticking with given the runner-up has won subsequently.
