Verdict

GOLDEN WHISKY justified strong support when winning over fences at Ffos Las (similar ground conditions) last November and was then thrown in at the deep end in a Class 2 chase at Ascot last month. He wasn't knocked about that day when his chance had dissipated and this looks a good level to get him back on the right path. Chasing debutante Dream Du Grand Val runs for a powerful yard and, given he drops in class, he will be hard to beat if he runs to his rating over hurdles, while Westend Story already knows his way around here and can also prove to be a thorn in the side of the selection.
