Verdict

CAERLEON KATE hinted at a return to form at Ayr over 3m½f on soft ground last month and can land the spoils in this contest now 6lb lower than last winning mark. The seven-year-old won on soft ground this time last year and can see off the attentions of the J P McManus-owned Dawson's Cottage, an eye-catching runner-up at Punchestown over 2m last month. Distance winner, Solar Heat for trainer Denis Hogan is not easily dismissed. The Ross Sullivan-trained Universal Focus has form with plenty of give in the ground and can go well at a price.
  1. Caerleon Kate
  2. Dawson's Cottage
  3. Solar Heat
