Verdict

The solid and consistent PILLAR has been running well on turf over the summer and can get back to winning ways on return to this surface where the Rock Of Gibraltar has hit the frame on five occasions from seven starts over C&D. The six-year-old could take some stopping if getting his own way from the front. Ty Rock Brandy is 2lb lower than her C&D win in March and can emerge as the biggest danger following a win on the AW at Wolverhampton last month. The Peter Fahey-trained A Step Too Far can go well at a price from stall 2. If making the line-up, it would be hard to dismiss the claims of the Denis Hogan-trained Bahlwan.
