Verdict

This looks as though it boils down to a head-to-head between the two previous winners LAMPANG and Be Prepared. The former was a rare first-time out winner for trainer Tim Easterby the yard’s only debutant winner this year and runners of that ilk from the yard tend to be useful despite having to cope with a 7lb penalty in different conditions faced in his win. The latter returns from a break having failed at odds-on last time after his Nottingham win, the absence may have revived him with a return to 6f also in his favour. None of the others to have run looks out of the ordinary and Kevin Ryan’s newcomer Findhorn is selected for the minor berth.
