Verdict

A typically open first day handicap, so not all that easy to solve. Swansway is a solid AW performer over the straight mile at Newcastle, so it's mildly interesting that he's had a very quiet winter. He stays further on turf and returned with a solid effort earlier this month (third), so is definitely one for the shortlist. Seventil ended the season on a upward curve, and whilst climbing the weights she will enjoy the underfoot conditions in the hands of a useful 5lb claimer. However, with Mick Appleby amongst the winners earlier this week, we'll row in with TOPAMICHI. He clearly relishes racing on grass and was successful from a 4lb lower mark at Nottingham in November.
  1. Topamichi
  2. Framley Garth
  3. Swansway
