Verdict

A low key finale in which a number of the runners have questions to answer over fences, not least (the admittedly well-weighted) filly Don't Let Go. Alto Esqua is a winner over fences; albeit a most fortuitous one, but the Charles Byrnes trained eight-year-old faces a much more realistic assignment on his handicap debut. However, the standout performer is Peter Fahy's HEAD TURNER. She looks to be gradually getting her act together over fences, and travelled well throughout when failing to see out an extended 2m5f trip at Thurles recently, and this drop back to a more suitable distance (2m) should see her off the mark over the larger obstacles at the fifth attempt.
  1. Head Turner
  2. Don't Let Go
  3. Alto Esqua
