Verdict

A typically competitive handicap for the track with several nice horses on view. It is no surprise to see Mark Johnston strongly represented with Musselburgh winner Thomas Cranmer looking the pick of his duo. He looks set to make a bold bid to make all under the champion jockey. Juanito Chico has struck up a good partnership with his rider and, having improved with each run this term, a 7lb rise for his Epsom success may not be enough to thwart him. OMRAN was highly impressive at Newcastle last time where he won in the style of a horse who could prove a lot better than a handicapper. A line through the runner-up gives him an edge over Thomas Cranmer. His rider has a good record for the yard and they are taken to come out on top. Ahlan Bil Zain has legitimate excuses for his two defeats this season and his maiden form suggests there are good races to be won when the stable find form.
  1. Omran
  2. Juanito Chico
  3. Thomas Cranmer
