Verdict

A race in which it's truly impossible to hold a strong view. Donnachies Girl surprisingly came out best of those to have already clashed in a similar contest for mares at Wetherby last month, although it should be noted that Cockley Beck is considered capable of better given her trainers previous strong track record in bumpers. This is undeniably much weaker than the race which M Seven Seven Gus contested at Catterick last month, but the application of the hood is a worry. Whilst generally preferring older horses in these type of races, a real chance is taken with the debutant four-year-old ECHO BEAT, with Will Kennedy an eye-catching booking for local trainer Tracy Waggott. She is related to various winners (including in bumpers), and her trainer is fully capable of saddling winners on the Flat so to speak.
  1. Echo Beat
  2. Donnachies Girl
  3. M Seven Seven Gus
