Below par in the main since winning over 2m2f at Pontefract (good-to-firm) in June last year. Well beaten at Newmarket (good-to-soft) last time and fitted with blinkers for the first time on his AW debut today.

Winning for the first time this year when successful over 2m at Beverley (good-to-firm) a month ago. Had putin some solid efforts prior to that and interesting on just his second AW start.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6  |  J: Charles Bishop |  T: Eve Johnson Houghton|  OR: 84
4/1

Promising first attempt at 2m when finishing a close fourth at Ascot (good-to-soft) earlier this month. Races off the same mark as he did on that occasion and is one for the shortlist here.

Dual winner at Southwell late last year and run some decent races in defeat since. Most recent of those came when 4L third over C&D last time but he looks in the grip of the handicapper at present.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3  |  J: Oisin Murphy |  T: S Kirk|  OR: 81

Put in a couple of decent efforts on the AW earlier this year including when finishing third over an extended 2m at Wolverhampton in January. Unraced since disappointing in first time blinkers (cheekpieces return here) the following month.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3  |  J: M Harley |  T: M Botti|  OR: 81|  D

Impressive winner over this trip at Chelmsford last November but not gone on from that. Well beaten at Newcastle in a valuable contest early last month and remains on a mark 8lb higher than for that latest success.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1  |  J: R Winston |  T: J Butler|  OR: 79|  CD
11/2

Winner twice on the AW this year including over C&D in June. Probably found the trip too far when weakening into fifth over an extended 2m4f at Goodwood (good-to-soft) earlier this month and a leading contender on his return to 2m.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-11  |  J: J F Egan |  T: M R Channon|  OR: 75|  C

Made a winning seasonal debut at Goodwood (1m6f, good-to-firm) in May. Highly of late including when returning to that venue over an extended 2m4f last time out. Drops in grade here.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-10  |  J: David Egan |  T: R Brisland|  OR: 74

Lightly raced filly and best effort this season came when runner-up over an extended 1m2f at Chester (good) in July. Disappointing since and steps up markedly in trip today.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-10  |  J: T P Queally |  T: M Keighley|  OR: 74|  D

Ffos Las maiden hurdle winner on debut for this yard last September. Well beaten in three starts is in that sphere since and a similar result on his Flat return last month. Wears a tongue tie for the first time today.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-9  |  J: Noel Garbutt |  T: G L Moore|  OR: 73
25/1

Successful on the Flat in France and best effort since joining this yard earlier this year came when third over C&D last month. Well held subsequently and races off a 4lb lower mark here.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-7  |  J: Ben Robinson |  T: B Ellison|  OR: 71|  D
16/1

Winning for the second time this year when successful over an extended 2m at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Often slowly away and has to defy a 7lb rise in the weights for that latest success.

Fleeting Visit (4/1), High Command (4/1), Corpus Chorister (9/2), Denmead (11/2), October Storm (8/1), Velvet Revolution (9/1), Whitecliff Park (16/1), Percy Veer (16/1), Age Of Wisdom (25/1), Wind Place And Sho (25/1), Mighty Lady (25/1), Sporty Yankee (66/1)

Verdict
FLEETING VISIT ran well on his first attempt over this trip when finishing a close fourth at Ascot earlier this month. The selection has some solid placed form over middle-distances this term and can take this contest at the chief expense of Denmead who caught the eye prior to weakening late on over further at Goodwood on his most recent outing. Bottom weight Whitecliff Park is another to consider having won at Wolverhampton last time while the consistent Corpus Chorister, successful on turf last time has run well on all three previous starts over this trip.
  1. Fleeting Visit
  2. Denmead
  3. Whitecliff Park
