Majestic Sands features in Richard Fahey's Monday team and the trainer guides us through his chances.
MONDAY
12.20 Pontefract – Escape Route
He can be a little naughty at home and is a bit of a playboy but can gallop too. If he behaves himself on debut he’s capable of running very well.
1.20 Pontefract – Hurcle
He was balloted out a number of times but finally got in a race here last week only to suffer a stone bruise and then had to miss out. He’s fine again now and I’d love to see him run well. We’ll be quite positive on him and while potentially testing ground is an unknown, if I had to pick a race for him it would be this one.
1.20 Pontefract – Majestic Sands
He’d been off for a long time when running at Newcastle in January and everything has gone according to plan with him since. He’s very fit and very well going into this race.
1.50 Pontefract – Easy Desire
We liked her last year but she ran an ordinary race on her final start and we don’t know why. We’ll just see what happens here but I’d imagine she’ll be one for handicaps after this.
1.50 Pontefract – Splinter
Nothing went right for him at Newcastle on his reappearance, he jumped out to his left and found himself in no man’s land and could never get into if off a slow pace. These things happen and it was nobody’s fault but he’ll take a bit of beating here if it’s a truly-run race.
2.50 Pontefract – Eva Maria
The aim is to get some Black Type with her and I think the step up to a mile-and-a-half here will suit. So will easy ground and I’d love to see her finish in the first three.
