Man On The Spot previews Saturday's Pick 7 races

Our resident tipster Man On The Spot previews the races that comprise Saturday's free to play £100,000 Pick 7 game.

2.05 York - Win 100k For Free At sportinglife.com/pick7 Now Handicap

Get Knotted won this a year ago and looks to have been given a chance from just 2lb higher despite several fine efforts at this level subsequently. SALATEEN was successful two years ago from 6lb lower and landed the Listed Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton in March. He was conceding Von Blucher 5lb when beating him into third at Newmarket in September so should confirm the form and is handed the vote. Battered won a slightly lower-class handicap over the track and trip in May and went up 9lb, which appeared to have anchored him at Sandown last month. Starlight Romance was a couple of lengths behind in that former race and is no better off but has improved since and can turn the tables. Right Touch hasn't been at his best recently but has gradually come down to a mark he should be capable of winning from.

2.25 Ascot - Porsche Handicap

Century Dream followed up at Ayr after beating Mustarrid at Doncaster last month. But the latter is now 11lb better off and connections will fancy their chances of turning the tables on Ryan Moore’s mount. Pealer’s only failure so far came in the Epsom Derby, which was too far. He’s won since at Epsom and is a danger to all while D'bai, who ran in the French Derby, sports headgear in his first run in a handicap. Alwahsh also makes his handicap debut but has been raised 11lb since easily landing a Nottingham maiden. FIRE BRIGADE didn’t run up to form at Yarmouth last month but the easier surface here will be more to his liking and he should give Hayley Turner a good ride at decent odds. Cullingworth could also be interesting off joint bottom weight.

2.40 York - Sky Bet Dash Handicap

David O'Meara saddles four and Danny Tudhope picks top weight Out Do, which is hardly surprising after riding him to victory in the Wokingham. Snap Shots ran a superb race in a premier handicap at the Curragh though has gone up in the weights again but three-year-olds don't have a bad record in the race and the progressive El Hombre can make his presence felt as can the lightly-raced Ultimate Avenue, who was unlucky in-running on his first start in a sprint at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago. GEORGE BOWEN was behind today's rival Al Qahwa and runner-up Muntadab here in May but has improved subsequently and, after winning at Nottingham, got no sort of run in that premier handicap at the Curragh - compensation could await here.

3.00 Ascot - Gigaset International Stakes

Only one three-year-old has won this since the turn of the century and it’s a race generally dominated by those aged four or five. Heaven's Guest started in stall two when winning two years ago but only one other winner has had a single-figure draw in the last 10 years. Remarkable made late headway when sixth in the Royal Hunt Cup here last month but, like eventual ninth Fastnet Tempest, may not be suited by dropping back a furlong. JOHNNY BARNES was a place behind stablemate Remarkable at Newbury last week but appears to be running into form and may have the better draw here. A former Group 3 winner on an easy surface, he gets a tentative vote but there are dangers aplenty including the fast-improving Viscount Barfield and Makzeem, who has been in good form at Newmarket recently. Above The Rest landed the Bunbury Cup at HQ but looks held by a few of these on earlier form.

3.15 York - Sky Bet York Stakes

Autocratic won a handicap here in October and improved to beat today's rival Algometer, who was conceding 3lb, by just over a length in a Sandown Group 3. He should confirm the form but may find Irish raider SUCCESS DAYS too good. Ken Condon's grey is a regular winner at this level and only just failed to concede Johannes Vermeer 3lb at the Curragh earlier this month. Hathal is a smart performer who reappeared after a long break to finish an excellent third in the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot. This will be his first start at the trip but would be an obvious threat if staying the distance.

3.35 Ascot - King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Qipco)

Highland Reel was Aidan O’Brien’s fourth winner in this Group 1 last year. The five-year-old beat stablemate Idaho in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last month and then reversed Meydan form with Jack Hobbs when winning the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at the Royal meeting here when subsequent Coral-Eclipse winner Ulysses was only third, though he wouldn’t want any more rain. ENABLE has yet to encounter ground with some give but connections are confident that the impressive Epsom and Irish Oaks winner will not be inconvenienced and she has to be the selection getting all the allowances – Frankie has been particularly bullish about her work in recent days. My Dream Boat is tough but unpredictable and has never won over 1m4f while this looks a very big ask for Argentina’s Sixties Song. Desert Encounter is preferred to Benbatl of the others.

3.50 York - Get The Sky Bet Advantage Novice Median Auction Stakes

STAXTON was a rare first-time out winner for his yard but there was no fluke about that 50/1 victory at Haydock where he came with a storming late run to beat two previous winners. He has to concede weight all round with his penalty but should have made enough progress to shrug off the extra. Hey Jonesy has to be a major threat after just failing to hold Ingenuity at Carlisle. He'll have come on a bundle for the run as will Fiery Breath, who showed good speed for a long way at Windsor. The Throstles was a 66/1 chance at Wolverhampton but belied his odds with a fine effort and he's another who should have made progress. Richard Fahey's filly Barefoot Babe is very speedily-bred but the market should be noted for clues.
