COURTANDBOULD was a little novicey here on his hurdling debut but still ran out an impressive all-the-way winner and there seems little point opposing Fergal O’Brien’s charge in this, despite the penalty. Bashful Boy showed a massive improvement when third at Uttoxeter while Outisaid may well have won a Dungarvan point in January had he not fallen at the last. Be Fair has won three times over 1m4f on Polytrack and will know more after a run at Doncaster at the start of the year.

Court Jurado finished nine lengths ahead of Secret Melody when second at Southwell on Monday and a repeat effort would see him in the firing-line, though he was behind Getawaytonewbay previously at Bangor. Cawthorne was upsides the winner when falling at the last at Market Rasen last month while Captain Speaking may make a better chaser than hurdler but VEILED SECRET found only one too good at Musselburgh on his chasing bow and had excuses at Catterick subsequently. He’s had wind surgery but has been given plenty of time to adjust to new surroundings and can make a winning start for Tom Symonds if fully wound-up.

Operatic Export may be a maiden but has shown ability, though today’s conditions may be too quick. Empreinte Reconce finished tailed off at Southwell in a race in which See The Sea finished fourth but will strip fitter today. Green Or Black is capable on her day and Sid Hoodie won three times last year, though off lower marks. Kim Bailey is more than capable of getting one ready at home so ROSE TO FAME’s long absence can probably be overcome as she looked a progressive mare when completing a double in novice company in spring of last year.

Demon D'Aunou seeks swift compensation having been hampered and unseating his rider when favourite for a chase at Southwell on Monday but it’s about time GRAGEELAGH GIRL was getting her head back in front and she only found an improver too good racing off this mark at Market Rasen last month. Tel'Art is a threat to all as he’s been in good form at Southwell, though has been raised a further 3lb. Searching won at Market Rasen last month but then a lifeless race on the Flat.

Sellingallthetime is 0-6 over hurdles but probably ran his best race to date when runner-up at Newton Abbot. He’s won four times on the Flat and this is a very modest heat. However, SEABORN was in cracking form on the Flat last year and is even less exposed over timber so it will be disappointing if he’s not thereabouts. Musical Stardust can’t be ignored after a pipe-opener at Southwell with his stable going well but this may be an insufficient test of stamina for Carpool.

Glendun will be fancied to end a frustrating sequence in the second division of this handicap but does have to give 4lb to HURRICANE HERO, who was probably given too much to do on his return to action at Southwell but still made the frame - expect Richard Johnson to ride him closer to the pace here. Memphis Bell ran in snatches on the same card but that was an improved performance and she should again beat Golconda Prince.

More Buck's made much of the running in the Grade 3 Summer Plate at Market Rasen last month before fading into fourth behind Really Super and FIDUX. Alan King’s gelding was beaten more than five lengths by the winner but is now 9lb better off and it will be disappointing if he can’t turn the tables. Imperial Presence looks held on the form book but Bbold looks a threat having got off the mark over fences over a bit further here last time when having plenty in hand. Darling Maltaix, on the other hand, is now 0-6 over the larger obstacles and continues to look a tricky ride.

A good run from Bbold in the previous race would be a boost to the chances of Dream Bolt, one of only two previous course winners in the line-up. Gentleman Moore is the other but he can be a tricky customer. Oscar Rose, a fair hurdler, was second on her chasing bow here last month and has a 7lb claimer on board to reduce her welter burden. Vendredi Trois is back on a winning mark and will have needed his run at Market Rasen but MONTY’S AWARD (NAP) came up against an improver at Bangor and was only beaten a neck so can finally get his head in front.

BEHOLDEN was surprisingly beaten under a penalty at Newton Abbot having won earlier at the Devon track but this looks a weaker contest and Mick Channon’s charge can recoup losses and confirm running with Presenting Yeats and Chaztara. Bucks Dream showed only modest form at Market Rasen but may improve for the experience.
