Man On The Spot best bets for Kempton on Wednesday

Check out our race-by-race verdicts and nap selection for Wednesday's meeting at Kempton.

4.25

OPERATIC made all to win by a wide margin at Windsor for a yard in flying form. She had a subsequent winner no less than seven lengths behind and can defy a penalty on that evidence. A couple stand out among the remainder with the Godolphin filly First Smile finishing runner-up at Newcastle on her debut and dropping down in trip while Yellow Rose showed some promise when fourth at Wolverhampton. A tongue-tie is applied to Sharsted and Tenaya Canyon is a newcomer to note.

4.55

Rated 82, CHOCOYA has the strongest form. She went close over track and trip before finding the competition too hot in a Group 3 at Ascot and Hugo Palmer’s filly can open her account back at this level. Electric finished in front of Adace when fourth here on her debut but disappointed last time and the latter may reverse running while Liberty Bay and Sealed Offer are likely improvers.

5.25

GOOD LUCK CHARM finished runner-up at Lingfield in between moderate efforts on the Turf and Gary Moore’s veteran can confirm running with Mr Mac. Stablemate Lady Morpheus scored over track and trip in July and is 4lb higher while Deftera Lad went close over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. My Lady Claire finished well ahead of Emerald Fox when successful in a classified contest at Bath but is 5lb higher back in handicap company today.

6.00

Runner-up over 7f at both Ascot and Newbury last time, SIAM FOX should stay this extra distance given his half-brother and stablemate Fox Champion won the German 2000 Guineas. The Hannon colt is preferred to Siskany, who finished fourth over a mile at Sandown on his debut with Landing System behind. The remainder have yet to threaten though it would be no surprise if Barn Owl and Expect To Succeed finished closer today representing powerful yards and the newcomer Merlin's Mission is a half-brother to a Group 3 winner.

6.30

King's Slipper won by a neck here recently but is 4lb higher. INTREPIDLY (NAP) scored over track and trip back in February and finished second in a higher grade back here on his reappearance. He’s taken to go one better racing off the same mark. The Gill Brothers ran well at Sandown on his comeback, though that was in June, while Artistic Rifles, an import from Italy, made a winning start for James Bethell at Redcar but is upped in class. Chelmsford runner-up Variyann is another facing a more difficult task and River Dawn remains 9lb higher than when scoring here in July.

7.00

Emirates Knight returns to this venue with a shout having struggled in better company at Ascot last time but MASTER THE STARS is preferred. The latter has gone close over 1m2f in both starts since winning at Newcastle and Ed Dunlop’s colt can find a bit more over this extra furlong. Iffraaz is 5lb higher than when scoring over 1m4f here but Summit Reach has slipped down the weights this year and posted a better effort at Chester last time.

7.30

ISLAND NATION and Stittenham Wood have similar form figures having both raced the same number of times before winning their latest starts by a wide margin. Both carry 6lb extra but the former won over 1m4f here and may just edge affairs. Greek Oasis posted her best effort so far when runner-up at Chelmsford while Exotic Escape missed out by only a neck over 1m4f here last time and On The Right Track was beaten less than a length at Salisbury.

8.00

In The Red has been raised 7lb after winning here last time but Martin Smith’s charge scored by a wide margin and this isn’t a strong race. Swiss Pride has been thereabouts recently and can go well along with Bounty Pursuit but both Plunger and Quarry Beach disappointed on Turf last time. LATE ARRIVAL returned a losing favourite at Doncaster on his latest start but, with the drop back down in trip likely to suit and his yard in such good form, he gets another chance.

8.30

Call My Bluff was beaten on the all-weather before scoring over 2m in heavy ground at Goodwood and MASTER MILLINER is preferred. The latter won easily over 1m5f at Bath recently and has gone close here before so looks worth sticking with. Tulane also steps up in trip on the back of recent placed efforts while Be Easy and Feldspar are others with scope over this far. War Empress was still beaten a long way when third over track and trip last time while Looking For Carl hasn’t won since landing this in 2018.
